Innovate Finance, in its role as Secretariat, was delighted to have held an All Party Parliamentary Group on FinTech’s parliamentary reception.
The reception shone a spotlight on the growth and work that is being done to help foster innovation in financial services across the UK. It was also a chance to connect with a variety of regional FinTech industry leaders and stakeholders, as well as parliamentarians, including Adam Afriyie MP (Chair of the APPG on FinTech) and Joe Garner (Chief Executive of Nationwide Building Society).
Joe introduced Nationwide’s Open Banking for Good initiative. This is a new challenge which is designed to convene FinTechs, innovators and money advice charities to create apps and services that promote financial capability.
